Swedish hardcore band Refused have announced that they will play their final US reunion show on November 5th, 2012 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, concluding a series of hugely successful performances in an intimate club environment where Refused is best appreciated. Pre-sale for the LA show will be available Wednesday, September 12th at 12 NOON and will and will include limited edition bundles ( VIP, ticket + limited edition t-shirt with show date) with all fees and proceeds going to SSE (Syrentha Savio Endowment)/ Shirts for a Cure (http://syrentha.org) and can be purchased by going to (http://tixx1.artistarena.com/refused/).
Playing their first show since their break-up in the late 90’s in April of this year, the band has completed a masslively successful, sold-out headlining run this summer that reached pinnacle points at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the FYF Fest in September and landed the band on numerous ‘not to miss lists ’ which the New York Times described as “sweaty, full-tilt punk impact coupled with smart precision, exactly why Refused fans had hoped for a reunion.” Refused made their “brilliant, long overdue (Spin.com)” debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on July 18th and will play their final festival show on Saturday November 3rd at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX.
Originally released in 1998, The Shape of Punk to Come has become one of the most influential albums in decades, fusing punk, metal, hardcore, techo, jazz, emo, and hip-hop into a meld of intricate, politically charged punk that has graced ‘best of’ lists since its release. Refused’s most critically acclaimed and final album exploded on the scene with the jaw-dropping hardcore anthem “New Noise,” which helped change the game forever by influencing a range of genres to this day.
Refused declines any interview requests at this time. Tickets for the event will go on-sale Friday, September 14th (http://goldenvoice.com/shows/details/?id=37792). More information can be found by going to www.officialrefused.com and www.epitaph.com .
