Lil Wayne released the first instalment of Tha Carter series in 2004, which added to his impressive collection of platinum plaques, followed by Tha Carter II in 2006, which cemented his status as one of the best MCs in the hip hop game. But it was 2008’s critically acclaimed Tha Carter III that gave Lil Wayne his iconic stature in popular music, paving the way for his advisory role to grow as CEO of Young Money Records. The album also made him a four-time Grammy Award winner, cementing his place in history as a true musical legend.
