Stone Sour returns with "House Of Gold And Bones Part II"

HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES PART 2, the new album from STONE SOUR, rocketed onto the charts this week, exceeding the strong first week sales of Part 1. Part 1 arrived just six months ago and debuted at #7 on the album chart. Now, Part 2 ups the ante, and in the process becomes the bands fourth consecutive album to debut in the Top 10.
HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES PART 2 is the second installment and conclusion to the group’s House of Gold & Bones two-part concept album, which follows a linear storyline written by singer Corey Taylor. The House Of Gold & Bones campaign is a multi-media approach: radio, touring, an accompanying comic series, online and video components, fan engagement campaigns, and much more.
About HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES PART 2, Revolver Magazine wrote, “Stone Sour deliver their best record yet with the second half to their ambitious concept double album.” Loudwire proclaimed that “House of Gold & Bones Part 2 stands firmly on its own as one of early 2013′s best albums,” while ArtistDirect hailed the collection as, “an epic for the ages and one of the greatest rock records of all time.” The lead single “Do Me A Favor” is currently #8 at Active Rock and climbing (Stone Sours last single “Absolute Zero” was #1 for 3 weeks).
News of the album’s explosive arrival follows a flurry of recent headline-making moves for the multi-platinum band, who are currently headlining the “Revolver Road To The Golden Gods” tour with In This Moment and Hell or Highwater. The tour is set to culminate with a performance from Stone Sour at the 5th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards presented by Epiphone®, on May 2nd at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia, where they are nominated for three awards – “Best Vocalist,” “Album of the Year” for House of Gold & Bones Pt. 1 and “Best Drummer” for Roy Mayorga. For complete tour details and ticket information, click here.
Furthermore, the first issue of HOUSE OF GOLD & BONES (Dark Horse Comics) is available today. Written by Corey Taylor, the comic book follows and expands on the story contained within the two part album, and features stunning covers from Jason Shawn Alexander (Empty Zone, Batman, Abe Sapien). This limited four-issue series marks Taylor’s debut in the comics genre. Copies of Issue #1 are available now via Dark Horse Comics’ webstore.
Over the course of the past decade, Roadrunner Records recording artists Stone Sour has sold over four million albums worldwide and garnered three Grammy Award nominations. Their self-titled debut and sophomore effort Come What(ever) May both exceeded Gold status while 2010′s Audio Secrecy and 2012’s House of Gold & Bones Part 1 debuted in the Top 10 on The Billboard 200. Lineup announced for the 2013 "Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival".

Another Planet Entertainment, Superfly Presents and Starr Hill presents, in a partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, are very proud to announce the lineup for the sixth annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival. The world’s only gourmet music festival that Rolling Stone called “one of America’s best,” will once again take place in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park August 9 – 11, 2013. Tickets will go on sale this Thursday April 18 at 12 noon PDT via www.sfoutsidelands.com. A significant portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit San Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department.
In its five years, Outside Lands has risen to become one of the most revered and prominent festivals in the country. Year after year of consistently world-class live music combined with the unique beauty of its Golden Gate Park surroundings and the best food and drink found at any festival has elevated its reputation and cemented its position as a highly acclaimed global destination for entertainment lovers everywhere. The 2013 music lineup is once again purposefully dynamic and diverse. From Paul McCartney, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails and Phoenix to Kaskade, Vampire Weekend, Pretty Lights, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, D’Angelo and The National to Grizzly Bear, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Young the Giant and Band of Horses to the quickly rising The Head and the Heart, Yeasayer, Foals, Dawes, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Youth Lagoon, Gary Clark Jr., Kurt Vile and the Violators, Zedd, Smith Westerns, Twenty One Pilots, Daughter, Dillon Francis, The Lone Bellow and The Men, to local Bay Area artists The Mother Hips, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Camper Van Beethoven, The Soft White Sixties, Midi Matilda, Bhi Bhiman, Locura and The Easy Leaves and so much more, Outside Lands 2013 has developed into a vortex of music discovery, exposing fans to legendary artists, current favorites as well as on-the-verge breaking acts. The complete lineup is below.
Taking its reputation as the world’s only gourmet music festival seriously, Outside Lands will once again expand on its food and drink options in 2013. Last year, the festival offered a record-breaking total of over 200 menu items, and introduced Beer Lands with over 30 California craft brews, and Outside Lambs, devoted to the deliciousness of the lamb. So dynamic was the culinary experience that Rolling Stone proclaimed, “at Outside Lands food and wine are half the fun.” The Outside Lands food and drink lineup is forthcoming later this Spring.
Now in its sixth year, the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival has become a cherished event that the city of San Francisco has embraced as fans from across the country flock to spend an incomparable weekend in one of America’s greatest parks. Each year, festival organizers ensure that every facet of the event highlights the Bay Area and all of the components that make it one of the most desirable places to live and visit. They also like to the say thank you to the city and the local communities surrounding the park by giving back in substantial ways. In its first five years, Outside Lands has raised over $6 million for the benefit of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. A 2011 economic study reported that the festival generates over $60 million annually to the San Francisco economy.
Outside Lands would like to thank its partners Heineken, PayPal, Toyota, Ustream, Esurance, TuneIn, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. and Levi Strauss & Co.

Pantera/Down frontman Phil Anselmo to release solo project.

Philip Anselmo, legendary frontman of Pantera and Down, will release his career-first solo album, Walk Through Exits Only , on July 16, 2013
Produced by Philip Anselmo and Michael Thompson, and recorded over the past couple of years at his New Orleans studio, Nodferatu’s Lair, with his band The Illegals – Marzi Montazeri/guitar, and drummer Jose Manuel “Blue” Gonzales, Walk Through Exits Only is abrasive, aggressive, anthemic and 100% Anselmo. The album’s eight songs are as unstrained as it gets, from “Battalion of Zero” to “Usurper’s Bastard Rant,” to the album’s title track that goes against the grain and right through the exits. Brash, brutal guitars cut through punishing percussion as Anselmo screams with uncompromising ferocity and uncontainable fire.
“It wasn’t about doing a paint-by-numbers thrash or heavy metal record,” Anselmo explained about the project. “It’s an angry album that only I could do. I don’t see anybody else out there screaming about the same shit I’m screaming about. On this album, there isn’t any wordplay, there isn’t any hidden message, it’s all right there in front of you.”
Anselmo and the Illegals will support the new album with a major North American tour planned for this summer. Anselmo, who is up for Best Vocalist at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods awards, will make a special appearance at that event.
On Walk Through Exits Only and over his entire career, Anselmo hasn’t just paved his own path, he’s bulldozed it with his bare hands.
Walk Through Exits Only will be available digitally, on CD and on vinyl.

Biffy Clyro forced to cancel remaining North American shows.

Biffy Clyro have today been forced to cut short their North American tour and return to the UK immediately; Simon Neil has been struggling with a serious respiratory problem on the shows, including two nights supporting Muse at Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and was advised by doctors that he was endangering his long term health if he chose to continue performing on this run. Thus, further dates with Muse across the US and Canada, plus a second weekend performance at the Coachella Festival this coming Saturday, have now been cancelled.
The band wish to express how sorry they are that they aren’t able to carry out the full run of shows, and hope to confirm a new run of North American shows shortly. All UK and European dates this Summer should, however, remain unaffected.
Biffy have been out on tour supporting their new double album Opposites, which gave the band their first ever UK No1 in early February. Since the release, the band have been on an almost uninterrupted run of arena shows including a triumphant UK tour that culminated at the O2 in London last week.
