Buzz continues to build for UK rock band YOUNG GUNS, who recently made headlines when Kerrang! awarded their new single ("Bones") the No. 1 spot on its list of the "250 Greatest Rock Songs of 2012." Thanks to “Bones,” a song whose companion video (http://bit.ly/QKP5ch) has racked up more than 1.3 million YouTube views, Young Guns also hold the distinction of being the highest charting new band at Active Rock Radio in 2012. Their full-length Wind-up debut, also titled BONES, has drawn rave reviews from the likes of Revolver, Q Magazine, the BBC and Alternative Press, who wrote, “Young Guns are making waves the old-fashioned way – writing great songs and playing their hearts out every night.” Over the course of the past few years, the London-based quintet (vocalist Gustav Wood, guitarists Fraser Taylor and John Taylor, bassist Simon Mitchell and drummer Ben Jolliffe) has emerged as one of the UK's most electrifying new bands, garnering heavy radio play and chart success while playing to packed-house crowds all across Europe, including a main stage performance at the Reading Festival, where they were part of a lineup that included Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, Guns N' Roses and Modest Mouse.

USRN was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.

A Day To Remember announce U.S. spring tour.

A Day To Remember will return to road this spring in North America with the launch of the “Right Back At It Again” tour in Atlanta on March 20th. Of Mice And Men will support on all dates, along with Chunk No Captain Chunk (March 20th – April 6th) and Issues (April 7th – May 4th). Tickets for all shows go on sale this week. For tickets and details about VIP packages visit: www.adtr.com

"We're finally going back on the road and you know what that means,” commented lead singer Jeremy McKinnon. “We're finally ready to show you all what we have been doing for the past year. We're excited to be back. It's been way too long. Come out. We're gonna have a good time. Bring your friends."

The band’s last album What Separates Me From You was a major breakthrough for A Day To Remember. Upon its release the album debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and has now sold over 300,000 units. A Day To Remember’s entire catalog is now well over a million units combined.

Just last month, the band posted a brand new track “Violence (Enough Is Enough)” on their website to rave reviews from their loyal and die-hard fans.

Since their formation in 2003, Ocala, Florida’s A Day To Remember have grown from a small band with a dedicated local fan-base into a worldwide phenomenon, gaining the respect and adoration from their peers as much as their fans. This hasn’t been an overnight success story – A Day To Remember have worked hard to win over every fan they’ve made. Over the course of four albums, the band has sold out entire continental tours, landed two Top 25 Billboard debuts and topped the Billboard Indie Albums Chart.

Sevendust premiers first single "Decay", adds tour dates.

Hot on the heels of last week’s Billboard.com premiere of the first single, “Decay,” from their forthcoming album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, SEVENDUST has added a slew of new tour dates to their previously-announced headlining trek with Lacuna Coil that starts February 2 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s.

SEVENDUST--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals)—will team up with Coal Chamber for a co-headlining tour starting March 28 in Tempe, AZ at The Marquee and concluding April 28 in Dallas, TX at The Palladium Ballroom. In addition, a handful of shows with Candlelight Red (whose latest DEMONS EP was produced by SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose) will start March 15 in New Orleans, LA at the House of Blues. The SEVENDUST/Coal Chamber run will include stops at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA on March 29 and at the Best Buy Theater in New York, NY on April 17.

The Atlanta band has created the SEVENDUST "Black Out The Sun" Pre-Sale Package, which will be available beginning THIS Wednesday, January 16 at http://tixx1.artistarena.com/sevendust/. It will offer opportunities for fans to pre-purchase their new album and ticket to the show.

All this touring comes in support of SEVENDUST’s highly anticipated release of their ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, March 26 on their 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group). Now that it officially had its online premiere, “Decay” will soon be heard on terrestrial radio stations nationwide and available for download at online retail outlets January 22.

As drummer Morgan Rose recently explained to Billboard.com, “Decay” was actually one of the final songs tracked for BLACK OUT THE SUN, which started as a riff left over from the COLD RAY MEMORY recording sessions. "We were starting to get burnt and we didn't want to push it," he says. "So we had this riff, and we said, 'Let's jam it and see if anything comes of it.' And before you know it, it became a song that ends up on the record, and everybody listens to it and they end up picking that as the single, which was pretty cool."

In a review of “Decay,” ArtistDIRECT.com raved: “The first single from their forthcoming ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, seesaws between tight and tough pummeling from guitar-slingers Clint Lowery and John Connolly, pounding rhythms from Morgan Rose and bassist Vinnie Hornsby, and Lajon Witherspoon's unmistakable scream from the soul. After a groan of feedback, eerie clean guitar builds with a hum before steamrolling into a chugging verse. It's as potent as the band's early fare, but simultaneously the melodies rise elegantly with seasoned songwriting chops....This band remains one of the most crushingly consistent of the past 20 years. They've never wavered in their infectiousness or intensity, and that's why they're nine albums deep. For fans, rest assured. SEVENDUST hit harder and heavier than ever with their best offering since SEASONS and one of the best hard rock records of 2013.”

Check out SEVENDUST at any of the following stops. Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.

Anthrax confims "Anthems EP"

Anthems, Anthrax's long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of Anthrax's favorite bands from the 1970s, will be released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast). Anthems's track listing features Rush's "Anthem," Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak," "TNT" by AC/DC, Boston's "Smokin'," "Big Eyes" by Cheap Trick, Journey's "Keep on Runnin," as well as the album version and a special remix of Anthrax's "Crawl" from the band's critically-acclaimed 2011 album Worship Music.

Said the band's vocalist Joey Belladonna, "These are all bands I grew up with and have listened to forever. It's just great music. I had fun singing these songs and I was happy recording together with Anthrax, doing classic rock songs. Fun stuff!"

On Boston's "Smokin'," Anthrax brought in a special guest to play keyboards - Fred Mandel, who has played with Alice Cooper, Queen, Elton John, Cheap Trick, Supertramp and on Pink Floyd's The Wall. About the track, drummer Charlie Benante said, "If ever there were a perfect first album, it's Boston's first album. The harmony leads they did would later be heard by Iron Maiden, which of course would lead to thrash metal."

The EP will be available on CD as well as digitally via iTunes and other online retailers. In addition to Anthems' cover art (attached), Benante and artist Stephen Thompson have subtly redesigned each track's original album cover art to "Anthrax" it. The Anthems EP will first be housed in one of the "re-imagined" digipak covers, and then inserted inside the main CD cover sleeve. The main cover sleeve has been designed in such a way so fans will be able to see which one of the six "re-imagined" covers is inside.

Anthems was produced by Anthrax, Jay Ruston and Rob Caggiano, and recorded for the most part throughout 2012 literally all over the world: at Benante's home studio, in Ruston's New York studio, on the band's tour bus while on last summer's Mayhem Tour, in hotel rooms, and backstage at their Berlin show last December.

The Grammy-nominated Anthrax - Belladonna, Benate/drums, Scott Ian/guitar and Frank Bello/bass - will hit the road in support Anthems on February 16 with dates in India and Australia, and then return to North America to headline the Metal Alliance Tour that kicks off March 22. For all of these dates, Anthrax will be joined by Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais.

Volbeat readies new album for spring 2013 release.

Danish metal band Volbeat has revealed the band is in the studio recording a new album for release in Spring, 2013. Titled Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, the sessions are being produced by Rob Caggiano, alongside Jacob Hansen, who has a long history with Volbeat having produced and mixed the band's prior four releases. Caggiano's producer credits include The Damned Things, Bleeding Through and Anthrax amongst others. Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies will be released this spring on Vertigo / Republic Records.

Front man Michael Poulsen reveals; “We’re back in the studio, this time breaking some of our old habits and this sometimes means leaving our comfort zone. We are recording in a new environment, producing with a new set up breaking new sonic ground and it’s exciting! Together with our long time collaborator Jacob Hansen we also have the honor of having producer Rob Caggiano on board in the producer’s seat. Expect lots of surprises and some of our most rocking heavy songs to date. We feel more than ever that we are taking the Volbeat sound to another level without changing what we’re all about. Can’t wait for it to get out there!”

The band returns to North America in March, with the following dates confirmed. Danko Jones will serve as main support through 4/11/13.

The Flaming Lips slated to release new album "The Terror" April 2, 2013

THE FLAMING LIPS and Warner Bros. Records are pleased to announce the long-awaited release of The Terror, their thirteenth studio album, on April 2nd in the U.S., and April 1stthrough Bella Union in Europe. The album was produced by the band's long-time collaborator Dave Fridmann and THE FLAMING LIPS at Tarbox Road Studios. It is comprised of nine original compositions that reflect a darker-hued spectrum than previous works, along with a more inward-looking lyrical perspective than one might expect - but then again, maybe not. It's up to you, the listener, to decide what it means to you.

Wayne Coyne explains, "Why would we make this music that is The Terror - this bleak, disturbing record? I don't really want to know the answer that I think is coming. Maybe this is the beginning of the answer."

The Terror is a bold and expressive journey that has evolved over THE LIPS' nearly 30-year tended garden of sonic delights that ebbs and flows with extraordinary splashes of darkness and light, pleasure and pain, chaos and order. As we've come to know THE FLAMING LIPS, the real beauty lies with the knowledge that to expect the unexpected is all part of the manic fun.

"If we have love, give love and know love," Coyne says, "we are truly alive and if there is no love, there would be no life. The Terror, we know now, that even without love, life goes on...we just go on...There is no mercy killing."

The digital pre-order of The Terror will begin on Jan 29th, through the iTunes Store and other participating digital retailers. All pre-orders will include an Instant gratification, Non-Album, Bonus Track titled, "Sun Blows Up Today." Confirmed live dates are listed below. More TBA soon.

"Sun Blows Up Today" is also the music bed for a very cool TV commercial which also stars The Flaming Lips and will air during the Super Bowl on Feb 3rd. Additionally THE LIPS have also created a lyric video especially for this non-album Bonus track. We will announce further details when / where the video can be viewed exclusively in advance of its on-sale date very soon.

Goo Goo Dolls to release new album "Magnetic" May 7, 2013.

Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Goo Goo Dolls have announced the release of their new album, Magnetic, on May 7, 2013. The debut single from Magnetic, entitled "Rebel Beat," is being met with coast to coast excitement in advance of its official launch February 12th. Listen to "Rebel Beat" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jUcEgDnujY

The band, singer guitarist John Rzeznik, bassist Robby Takac, and drummer Mike Malinin recorded in New York, London and LA with Gregg Wattenberg (Train), Rob Cavallo (Green Day), John Shanks (Bon Jovi), and Greg Wells (Katy Perry). Magnetic is the tenth studio release for the Buffalo, NY trio. "I'm so proud of our new album," says Rzeznik. I've had such a great time and learned so much from the amazingly talented people who worked on it with me." He continues, "I think that positive energy comes across on the songs. Writing and recording Magnetic changed my thinking about making music and doing it in a fun way."

Goo Goo Dolls have sold over 10 million albums worldwide, with 14 Top 10 Radio hits, more than any other artist in the history of the Hot AC format. They are the only artist to have three songs on Billboard's "Top 100 Songs from 1992-2012" including the Number One slot, for "Iris." John Rzeznik has been honored with the Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award and they have shared the stage with everyone from The Rolling Stones to Taylor Swift, who recently covered "Iris" with Rzeznik onstage. Most recently Goo Goo Dolls honored President Barack Obama with a headlining slot at The Creative Coalition's Inaugural Ball, which took place yesterday in Washington, DC.

15th annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival reveal initial line-up, with more artist announcements to come!

Punk Rock Bowling was started back in 1999 as a way to bring the independent music community together for an annual party. It has since grown into a 4 day festival in downtown Las Vegas that brings out fans and bands alike from all over the world. Now in our 15th year, more than 8,000 punk rock music lovers flock to Las Vegas to partake in the “biggest punk rock party of the year!”

3 days and 4 nights of outdoor festivals & late night club shows overtake the Downtown Fremont East District with over 70 bands performing throughout the weekend, many special guests, reunions and rare appearances. With 1,000 punk rock bowlers competing for over $15,000 in prize money during the day, over 1,000 downtown hotel rooms, pool parties, comedy shows and a poker tournament, this is a marathon party that never stops in the City Of Sin.

“Being fans of music ourselves, we like to take all the things we dislike about festivals and eliminate them from our event” says festival organizer Stern. “We want this to be a big party and we want everyone to have a great time. We offer good food with vegan and vegetarian options, and our drinks are probably half the price of most festivals. We also limit the capacity so it still sounds great and because our audience are such die hard fans of punk rock, we have little to no problems in the crowd. It’s like one big family enjoying a debauchery filled weekend in Las Vegas like any normal family! Ha!”

This year, we are very excited to announce our initial lineup for the 15th Annual Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival which will feature one of the first full performances of none other than the godfathers of west coast punk rock themselves! Taking their cue from the black flag of anarchy, let us present FLAG. Long may they wave. Featuring original members Keith Morris (vocals), Chuck Dukowski (bass), Bill Stevenson (drums 1981-1985) along with SST labelmate and Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton (guitar) performing the music of Black Flag.

We are also very honored to have, for their very first time at PRB, preeminent punk band BAD RELIGION, who will be releasing their new album True North this January 22nd on Epitaph Records. In a world still brimming with rampant anti intellectualism, inequality and oppression, the band’s signature brand of sonically charged humanist dissent seems as relevant as ever. A free download of the new song “Fuck Off” is available here. http://emailunlock.com/epitaph-records/bad-religion-f-you/

Also appearing, one of the pioneers of British punk rock, THE DAMNED, Hardcore innovators D.R.I, Uk’s politically charged SUBHUMANS, 90’s pop punk phenomena LAGWAGON, New Jersey’s lovable BOUNCING SOULS, San Francisco’s finest street punks SWINGIN UTTERS, and Texas’s LOWER CLASS BRATS. This is just the beginning, many more bands to be announced and we still have a lot up our sleeve to make this years line up one to remember.

About Flag (original members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski and Bill Stevenson, with Stephen Egerton performing the music of Black Flag):

On January 27, 1979, at a Moose Lodge in Redondo Beach, California, Black Flag took the stage for the first time. Whipping up as much meat energy as possible, they didn’t so much play songs as create rapid-fire, rhythmic drives.

Everything was short. Stripped-down. A wall of distortion, built on a relentless series of riffs. And vocalist Keith Morris ran around the stage like an escaped lunatic, eventually wrapping himself in one of the venue’s American flags like it was a straitjacket. It was hardcore punk-rock before anyone ever started calling it that. It was great. You could ask anyone who was there.

Although Black Flag’s line-up -- Morris, bassist Chuck Dukowski, guitarist Greg Ginn, and drummer Robo -- would splinter within a year, the band’s ever-shifting membership released a half-dozen LPs (including the now-classic Damaged, My War, and Slip It In), two live albums, two compilations (Everything Went Black and The First Four Years), and several EPs that incorporated heavy metal, free jazz, and break-beats into the mix before they finally imploded in 1986.

Along the way, Black Flag wrote dozens of enduring songs, ranging from the sarcastic (“TV Party” and the Morris co-write “Wasted”) to the anthemic (“Rise Above” and the Dukowski-authored “My War”) to “Gimme Gimme Gimme” and “Nervous Breakdown.”

Black Flag also headlined sold-out shows at L.A.’s Olympic Auditorium, the Hollywood Palladium, and the Santa Monica Civic, and saw an early live performance immortalized in the ground-breaking 1979 punk-rock documentary, The Decline Of Western Civilization.

Meanwhile, Dukowski served as co-owner and booking agent at the band’s own SST Records label, which became one of America’s most influential independent labels, issuing more than 100 records from such future stars as the Minutemen, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden, Hüsker Dü, Bad Brains, and the Meat Puppets, for openers. More importantly, Black Flag and SST’s acts hit the road, building a nationwide touring circuit for indie recording artists that continues to this day.

This D.I.Y. ethos, along with the band’s anti-rock-star attitude and refusal to follow any fashion dictates, would be their greatest legacy.

At least until Morris, Dukowski, drummer Bill Stevenson (who played in Black Flag from 1981 to 1985), and guitarist Stephen Egerton (who’s been a member of the Stevenson-founded Descendents and ALL since 1985) reunited for a surprise performance at L.A. promoter Goldenvoice’s 30th anniversary concert in December 2011.

Inspired by the crowd’s enthusiastic reaction, Morris (whose post-Black Flag career includes fronting the Circle Jerks and, most recently, hardcore revivalists OFF!), Dukowski (who, after exiting Black Flag in 1983, founded SWA, Würm, United Gang Members, October Faction, and, his current outfit, the Chuck Dukowski Sextet), Stevenson, and Egerton decided to extend the legacy, working up a repertoire of 30 classic Black Flag songs with an eye toward future live performances.

Taking their cue from the black flag of anarchy, they’re calling themselves FLAG. Long may they wave.

Biffy Clyro to be tour support for Muse.

Breakthrough rock band Biffy Clyro have been selected to join Muse on the east coast leg of their nationwide headline tour. The Scottish trio will open on nine dates in April, including two nights at New York City's Madison Square Garden. Full dates are below.

The run will support Biffy's upcoming album Opposites, due out March 12, 2013 in the US via Warner Bros. Records and is available for pre-order starting today here (http://opposites.biffyclyro.com/). The first single off Opposites, "Black Chandelier," which Billboard called a "sure-fire worldwide smash" premiered recently on BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe show and was just added at Sirius XM's Alt Nation. Watch the video for the track here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myc_RViTHhY). Fans can download "Black Chandelier" instantly when they pre-order the album, and it is also now available as a single on iTunes.

Produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers) in Los Angeles, CA, Opposites is the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed Only Revolutions, which earned the band over 1,000,000 in total album sales and a Mercury Prize nomination. The Sunday Times, Kerrang and Q each gave it four stars, Esquire labeled it "a blistering triumph" and the NME declared that the release "springs the band instantly level with the greatest rock acts in the world."

Biffy have also cemented their status as one of Britain's most exciting live bands, with three recent sold-out UK arena tours, an upcoming arena tour that includes a landmark show at the O2 Arena, and headlining festival slots. They won "Best Live Band" awards from both NME and Q in 2011, and their September performance at the iTunes Festival in London led Kerrang to declare them "The best live band in Britain."

Bring Me The Horizon set release date for new album April 30.

Already being herald as one of the most anticipated albums of the year, BRING ME THE HORIZON’s upcoming fourth studio album, SEMPITERNAL will be the defining sound of heavy music in 2013 and it is scheduled for release on April 30th via Epitaph Records. Check out a new trailer for the record here: http://youtu.be/wncl2jPppgU.

Proving to be perpetual favorites among fans, the album’s first single “Shadow Moses” came charging out of the gates last week after premiering on Zane Lowe’s BBC’s Radio 1, forcing Epitaph to post the song on YouTube a week in advance due to popular demand.

Check out "Shadow Moses" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubXx6t4aU54

"There's a very euphoric sound coursing through the album, a very uplifting but yet sad sound," says front-man Oliver Sykes. "Electronically, it's far more advanced than anything we've done before."

The five piece, consisting of Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls and Jordan Fish, recorded Sempiternal over a three month period with super producer Terry Date (Linkin Park, Deftones, Soundgarden). The band also brought in David Bendeth (A Day To Remember, Paramore) to add to the all-star production line-up and mix the album.

"Writing Sempiternal was a completely different process," comments Sykes. "We worked from a computer, laying down ideas and riffs and working on them tirelessly until we had what we wanted." For the first time, Sempiternal sees a new member appearing on the record, Jordan Fish, who takes on keyboard duties on the record as well as during live performances. "Bringing Jordan into the mix changed things completely; he opened up so many more possibilities."

Sykes goes on to say, "The lyrical theme is everything. My head was a lot clearer when writing this time and it allowed me to write from a different perspective. It's the best stuff I've ever written in my opinion. It's very dramatic, quite blunt, and at times sarcastic, but the biggest part of it - is how it is combined with the music to bring the listener vivid imagery and emotion. I think we really managed to pull that off."

Sempiternal is an embracing ride through soaring vocals, supercharged melodies and what can only be described as spine tingling metal anthems. After the critical and commercial success of their previous albums, There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret (2010) and their breakout success Suicide Season (2008), BMTH plan to take heavy music to the next level, incorporating the most dynamic elements of hard music to create the most exhilarating album of the year.
