Lacey Sturm to leave Flyleaf.

   A&M/Octone recording group Flyleaf announce the departure of long time singer Lacey Sturm today.  The band’s final album with Lacey, New Horizons, will be out on October 30^th on A&M/Octone Records.   

 

Flyleaf are pleased to announce that Kristen May of formerly of the band Vedera will be stepping in as the band’s lead singer for future tour dates in support of New Horizons. 

 

"When listening to New Horizons, I would hope that fans would be able to lose themselves in the story of each of these songs and form their own connections to them—as we have in the band,” remarked bass player Pat Seals.  “There is a great deal of our souls laid bare on this record, and I feel like it really comes through on the tracks."

 

Seals also commented on Lacey’s departure, “As Flyleaf begins this new cycle to introduce our third record New Horizons, we feel our fans should know that Lacey has stepped down as lead vocalist of the band.  Her statement below expresses her reasons for leaving.  In order to continue on with New Horizons, Sameer, Jared, James, and myself have selected Kristen May, formerly of Vedera, to assume lead vocal duties for future tour dates.  We are excited for this new chapter in the history of Flyleaf, and hope that our fans will accompany us as we continue on this journey to bring hope and inspiration through our music.  We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and we are looking forward to playing for you again soon.”

 

Lacey commented on her departure, “I have been beyond blessed to be in Flyleaf for the past ten years, touring with 4 amazing men and the Flyleaf crew, whom I love like my flesh and blood family. They have all given so much.  It took everyone on our team to make the beauty in Flyleaf possible. I am honored to have met so many wonderful people who love Flyleaf music all over the world. Your incredible stories continue to inspire me. I am very thankful to have recently become a mom to one of the greatest blessings of my life, my son Jack. You may have also heard that we recently lost our brilliant sound engineer, Rich Caldwell, in a devastating car accident. Now, more than ever, I understand the phrase Memento Mori. I understand that, for me, living life to the fullest in this season  means to step down as the lead singer for Flyleaf. I wish the best to Jared, Pat, Sameer and James and I know that as I continue to pursue the highest heights of what I am created for, it will free them all to pursue that for themselves too. 

 

The guys will continue to tour and write music together.  I'm so very grateful that they are able to do what they desire and that there is a beautiful and talented, warm hearted girl like Kristen May to sing for them. Because of this, you will all get a chance to see a new Flyleaf show and support the new album. 

 

As I take this first step on a new journey, I pray that each one of you would pursue your highest calling with reckless abandon as well, understanding that sometimes the fullness of life comes in doing things that are only understood by you, God, and the special people God has put in your life that truly love you for you… not for what you do, but for who you are.  I love you guys so much and in many ways, I will stay in touch. May God bless you all with healthy hearts, full of courage to weather the journey to your own New Horizons.”

 

Flyleaf has also just released the second single from the album titled “Call You Out.”  The song is the follow up to the title track from the new album.

 

Their debut self-titled album has now sold 1.4 million units and is certified Platinum.  "All Around Me" reached the Top 10 on Top 40 Radio.  Flyleaf has also charted six singles at modern and rock radio.

 

Flyleaf’s last album, Memento Mori, debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.  "Again" from the album went all the way #2 at Modern Rock Radio (Breaking through the #1 and #3 spots held by Muse).

Flyleaf returns with new album on October 30th.

   A&M/Octone recording group Flyleaf will release their third studio album New Horizons on October 30th. The band also just released the second single from the album titled “Call You Out.” The song is the follow up to the title track from the new album.

"’Call You Out’ was one of the first songs written during the New Horizons sessions, commented bass player Pat Seals. “The stomping opening verse evolved over time into this aggressive but very calculated track that closes with Sameer using chaotic guitar sounds to sort of burn it to the ground - engages you all the way through."

Formed in Central Texas in 2002 when long-time friends Sameer Bhattacharya (Guitar) and Jared Hartmann (Guitar) merged their considerable talents with James Culpepper (Drums), Lacey (Lead Vocals), and later Pat Seals (Bass). Flyleaf quickly became a touring force on the road supporting their first two albums between 2005-2010. A break followed as Lacey and her husband announced her pregnancy in 2010 and gave birth of their baby boy in 2011.

The band regrouped in the studio last year and began work on New Horizons. Bass player Pat Seals has not only designed the album cover for the band’s upcoming release, he also created a fold out poster as part of the packaging.

Their debut self-titled album has now sold 1.3 million copies and is certified Platinum. "All Around Me" reached the Top 10 on Top 40 Radio. Flyleaf have also charted six singles at modern and rock radio.

Trey Songz embarks on "Chapter V" world tour.

   Songbook Entertainment/Atlantic recording artist Trey Songz has unveiled details of his upcoming "Chapter V World Tour Presented by ooVoo," appropriately titled after his fifth studio album, "CHAPTER V," which was released on August 21st and debuted at #1 on Billboard's "Top 200 Albums" chart, as well as the "Top R&B Albums" and "Top Digital Albums" charts, and a Top 10 debut on the U.K. Albums chart. P.O.D. to join Daughtry and 3 Doors Down on co-headlining tour.

   P.O.D. will join Daughtry and 3 Doors Down as special guests on the forthcoming pairs co-headline U.S. tour. The tour kicks off November 17th in Tunica, MS and will run through the middle of December (tour dates below).

P.O.D.’s second single, “Higher,” will impact the week of October 30th. The video for “Higher” is available now on VEVO. The video for “Higher” was filmed with director Ramon Boutisveth (All That Remains, For Today, Trivium). The band also partnered with Harley Davidson for this video and the video features a number of Harley Davidson motorcycles.

The band’s first single, “Lost In Forever” hit #1 at Active Rock Radio (#1 on BDS). This is P.O.D.’s first-ever number one single at the Active Rock format and also the first number one charting Active Rock track for the band’s new label partners at Razor & Tie. Rage Against The Machine to release 20th anniversary box set in late November.

   Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Rage Against the Machine - XX, commemorative 20th anniversary editions of the eponymous debut album by a great American rock band, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

Originally released in November 1992, Rage Against the Machine signaled the arrival of a revolutionary musical force, a band straddling the worlds of hip-hop and heavy metal with a scorching streetwise sound that rapped and rhymed hardcore across a musical backdrop as menacing and inspirational as graffiti. Rage Against the Machine entered the popular lexicon as more than just a revolutionary American rock band, the group's very name provided a rallying battle cry for the ongoing struggles for liberation--psychic and political--on planet earth.

Formed in 1991, Rage Against the Machine opened the gates of a new boundary-obliterating rock-rap musical alliance with the band's literate and politically-charged debut album.
